Homecare

Usually you or your loved one will need help with a variety of tasks that can make a big difference to your independence and quality of life. Typical duties / activities that are

included in hourly homecare include:

  • Help getting up / dressed in the
  • morning
  • Toileting / Personal Care
  • Meal Preparation
  • Encouragement and help with getting outdoors for walks /
  • exercise
  • Medication Prompting
  • Changing bedlinen or other light housekeeping in relation to the
  • client’s individual care, such as laundry, bringing out the bins etc

Many of our clients will have been awarded some Home Support Hours following an assessment by their Public Health Nurse or prior to discharge from hospital. As an approved HSE provider, we can provide these HSE-funded hours to you or your loved one. Some clients may need additional support / hours over and above what may be funded by HSE. Or in some cases, clients may opt to pay privately as a temporary measure while they are waiting for a Home Support package to be approved by their local HSE office. Many of the activities carried out by your carers will be the same for privately funded care as for HSE funded. There are however some activities that HSE don’t support but which you may require, these would include driving you our your loved one to activities / outings / meeting friends, trips to a local coffee shop, collecting medication from the Pharmacy, etc. Our Nurse Care Manager is ideally placed to identify such needs and advise accordingly.
